The Stranger (2023)

Artist Statement: 

The Stranger is a suspenseful, noir-inspired short film that blends psychological tension with moral conflict. Set against a stark, black-and-white backdrop, the story follows a mysterious stranger whose unexpected visit disrupts the life of a reclusive man. As the two characters clash, their contrasting beliefs unfold, revealing deep, unsettling truths about identity and fear.

Inspired by Hitchcock's suspenseful storytelling and The Twilight Zone’s surreal twists, this project began as a one-act play I envisioned in high school. When COVID hit, I transitioned from theater to film, and the story evolved with me. Encouraged by a professor, I reworked the concept into a short film that would carry the same eerie, psychological undertones. The noir aesthetic became a natural choice, adding layers to the moral struggle between the two leads and heightening the story’s sense of foreboding.

Being the first film I've made from start to finish, I couldn't be prouder of the end result. I’m grateful to the cast and crew who brought their passion and talent to this project, helping me bring this dark, thought-provoking story to life.
