Artist Statement: 

And... Scene! is a romantic comedy that playfully explores the blurred lines between acting and real emotions. The story follows two actors as they rehearse a love scene, finding themselves entangled not only in their characters' romance but in a budding chemistry of their own. As they navigate the awkward, funny, and sometimes heartfelt moments of rehearsal, they discover that the line between performance and reality might not be so clear.

With this film, I wanted to capture the comedic tension and charm that can arise when two people are thrown together in close, vulnerable circumstances. Through quick-witted dialogue and a light-hearted tone, And... Scene! offers a look at the unexpected ways that love — whether scripted or real — can surprise us.

Production was challenging, as production spanned over the course of Winter Break and at the time, this was the largest ensemble I've directed. We also spent a lot of time focusing on the cinematography and transitions, as we wanted to keep the momentum and energy going from scene to scene. We referenced Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and Ferris Bueller's Day Off as visual aides.
